In the recent milieu, we have seen the rejection of religion, authority and even guru, only to be replaced with the influencer. People seek those that they wish to emulate and become.
I feel that perhaps it may have been better to stay with the priest who devoted their life to the journey into God, than someone who knows how to make a lot of money through social media.
Nontheless, it seems to point to a similar malais, the aversion to meeting and being yourself. What a point of self hatred we have come to, that we constantly seek another to follow and become! We have addiction to following others. But what does another know about being You?
Why do you not wish to live as yourself? Why do we place so much value on things that have no intrinsic value such as large amounts of money that will never be spent, status or the thoughts of others?
Where is true value? And what do you know of yourself?
Have you felt your heart spiral into wonder as you move your feet in love?
Do you know what brings the deepest cry of pleasure from the lips of your beloveds?
Do you know what you cannot live without?
Have you met the beloved within your body?
What and who are you, beyond your successes and failures?
Where would the road take you without your view set so firmly upon your purpose, which has been popularised by modern day positive thinking salesman?
Perhaps there is more to you, than if you achieve your goals or have a loving relationship. And what happens if you don't? Are you going to end it all, becaue you haven't met your sales quota or your songs have not made you famous?
For goodness sake people, how long are you going to seek yourself outside of yourself? Why are so deeply influeced by what the world values?
When to turn the eye inwards ? How about now .. right now?
Imagine , going into a world , where there is no purpose and there are no goals, and you do not know what you like sexually or who you want to marry or how your children should turn out.
Imagine going into yourself where none of these external socially correct values exist.
Imagine beginning simply with your breath. Following the breath into the belly.
And asking , who is there and seeing who is there.
For you are not going to find a person, you are going to discover a world.
You are not a person, you are eternity.
Look again, in any direction , as long as it is IN. Turn the gaze IN.
Forget the outer world for just a moment.
And begin to meet the magnificence of your BEING.
